Military oath and military affirmation ceremonies in the Pori Brigade available online

On 13.-14.8.2020, the military oath and affirmation ceremonies of the July 2020 contingent recruits in the Pori Brigade will be organised without audience at the Säkylä-Niinisalo garrison. The events will be streamed live online.

As the Finnish Defence Forces does its utmost to protect the health of conscripts and of the service personnel in all conditions and also during the coronavirus, all public events including the military oath and military affirmation ceremonies will be exceptionally organised without audience. On Thursday 13 August, altogether nearly 1,000 recruits who started their military service this July will partake in the military oath or military affirmation giving ceremonies at the Niinisalo garrison.

The military oaths and military affirmations will be received by Commander of the Pori Brigade, Brigadier General Mika Kalliomaa, and the ceremonies will be led by Deputy Commander Colonel Riku Suikkanen. The reader will be Chair of the Niinisalo Soldier’s Home Association Ms Minna Mikkola

The schedule in Niinisalo on 13.8.2020:

  • at 10:00 Military affirmation
  • at 11:00 Military oath
  • Military oath ceremony followed by a pass in review

 
On Friday 14 August, a strength of over 1,000 conscripts in total will contribute to the military oath and military affirmation giving ceremonies at the Säkylä garrison.

The military oaths and military affirmations will be received by Commander of the Pori Brigade, and the ceremonies will be led by Deputy Commander. The reader will be Chair of the Säkylä Soldier’s Home Association Ms Marja Syrilä.

  • at 10:00 Military affirmation
  • at 11.00 Military oath
  • Military oath ceremony followed by a pass in review
