1.9.2016 | The Guard Jaeger Regiment of the Finnish Defence Force is organising a cooperation exercise for Finnish authorities on Monday 5 September 2016 at Helsinki's Olympia Terminal and in its immediate vicinity as well as in the Katajanokka area, running from approximately 09:00 to 19:00.

4.9.2018 | Army brigade-level units are organising six local defence exercises between 10–14 September in South Karelia, South Savo, Kymenlaakso, Lapland, North Karelia, Satakunta, Uusimaa and Southwest Finland.

26.5.2017 | EOD training is one of six training branches at the Karelia Brigade. In the defence reform of 2015, EOD training was centralised in Vekaranjärvi. An EOD Company, which is a relatively compact and functional unit, was established within the Kymi Engineer Battalion. Also the training sites were modernised when the training was started.

As part of the international Reccex 17 exercise, the Finnish Defence Forces, the Police and Nordic subject-matter experts in CBRN defence train inter-authority cooperation while operating in demanding situations.

16.5.2018 | A combat training and firing exercise of the Finnish Army, the exercise Pohjoinen 18 will be organised in the Rovajärvi training area from 24 May to 7 June 2018.

16.11.2017 | The Defence Forces’ main exercise Uusimaa will be held in southern Finland from 27 November to 4 December 2017. The objective is to train defending the capital city area and coast in a rapidly escalating situation together with the other authorities.

6.9.2016 | Exercise Kehä 16 to develop cooperation between authorities was held at the South Harbour in Helsinki on 5 September. The participants included the Helsinki Police, Gulf of Finland Coastal Guard, City of Helsinki, Helsinki City Rescue Department, Port of Helsinki and Customs.

4.3.2019 | Part of Finland’s defence system, local defence is implemented by local units comprising local actors knowledgeable about the specific features of their given locality. During excep-tional conditions, these local units become organised as local battalions mobilised while raising readiness.

20.2.2018 | Altogether five local defence training exercises led by Finnish Army brigade-level units will be organised in the regions of Kymenlaakso, Lapland, Northern Savonia, Ostrobothnia, Satakunta and Uusimaa from 26 February to 9 March 2018.
