9.4.2025 | The training exercise entity of the Army will start at the end of April to continue until early June in all of Finland. The exercises will strengthen the alliance’s ability for joint operating, build-up of combat power, and its concentration across Finland.

25.5.2024 | The brigade-level, multinational Task Force Arctic Storm (TF Arctic Storm) has been preparing for its upcoming offensive mission around Sodankylä during the Combat Enhancement Training/Force Integration Training (CET/FIT) phase.

31.5.2024 | The international combat exercise held in Rovajärvi brought together nearly 6,500 soldiers from Finland, the United States, and Norway, as well as staff personnel from Sweden. The main objective of the exercise was to enhance the interoperability of the participating nations' ground forces in the challenging terrain conditions of Northern Finland.

4.5.2023 | At the Rovajärvi range and training exercise area the Army Academy will lead the exercise Lightning Strike 23 during 15.–26.5.2023, and the exercise Northern Forest 23 during 27.5.–2.6.2023. The exercises will develop joint fires and combat operating with forces of the alliance and Sweden, as well as the ability for providing and receiving international assistance.

22.12.2023 | The Army multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) fleet will be upgraded to a new version. The upgrade ensures long-range MLRS fires capacity also in the future.

11.6.2026 | Denna vår slutförde Frankrike en längre kommendering i Finland för första gången. Ca 180 soldater från Frankrikes 27:e infanteribrigad 27 (Brigade d´Infanterie de Montagne) sändes till Finland. Bergstrupperna anlände i slutet av februari och lämnade Finland i början av juni. De franska och finska soldaterna utbytte kunnande och förbättrade på ett betydande sätt sin förmåga att strida tillsammans i nordiska förhållanden.

21.11.2016 | One of the exercises to be held as part of the Army Combined Fires Exercise 2016 is the NORTHER 16 exercise, which takes place on 18–24 November 2016. A detachment of Swedish soldiers is also participating in the exercise. NORTHER 16 is a live firing exercise, the purpose of which is to train troops in joint firing procedures in a multinational operating environment and develop international interoperability.

17.11.2016 | In 2014 Finland’s Ministry of Defence authorized the Army to acquire 155 mm BONUS Mk II munitions that search for armored vehicles. The first BONUS rounds were fired at the beginning of this week in Rovajärvi.
