15.7.2026 | Recruits who started their service in the Lapland Jaeger Battalion and the Rovaniemi Air Defence Battalion swear the military oath or give the military affirmation in Keminmaa on Saturday, 8 August. The ceremony is held on the Keminmaa School Campus and sports field.

14.3.2017 | Defence Forces Sports School winter sports athletes III / 17 has been selected. Athletes begin their service on 10 April 2017 in the Guard Jaeger Regiment and Kainuu Brigade.

17.5.2022 | Hedgehog 22 held in Estonia will be participated by the Army with up to circa 240 personnel led by the Pori Brigade. The training audience detachment to the exercise in Southern Estonia will comprise mainly reservists trained for the Finnish Rapid Deployment Force (FRDF) who have already began their preparation phase in Säkylä.

6.7.2018 | On Monday 9 July military barracks will be teeming again as the new recruits arrive. Approximately 9,500 young people start their military service in eight different Army brigade-level units.

26.6.2017 | Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) is communication between the military forces and the surrounding society, with the aim of establishing and maintaining good relations and stability and bringing the state of the surrounding society to the attention of a commanding officer.

17.9.2018 | Altogether nearly 200 competitors will be attending. The competitors will include a number of top-level orienteerers, such as World Championship and European Championship gold medalist Marika Teini as well as Olli-Markku Teini who competes as part of the Finnish National Team in Orienteering for the eight year now, and the top-level orienteerers Timo Sild and Lauri Sild from Estonia, to name only a few.

17.7.2018 | The Jaeger Brigade will organise the Nordic and Finnish Military Orienteering Championships in Rovajärvi and in the Rovajärvi Firing Range Area and Military Training Area on 17-20 September 2018.

19.6.2018 | Pori Brigade will host the 50th Nordic Military Shooting Championships in Säkylä and Hollola from 25th to 29th June. Most of the competition events will be held in Säkylä but 300 m events will be held in Hollola (Hälvälä shooting range).

7.6.2019 | The Guard Jaeger Regiment will organise the 58th Open Nordic Military Pentathlon Championships in Helsinki 24-28 June 2019.

26.1.2017 | The Finnish Defence Forces will host the International Military Sports Council’s (CISM) 50th World Military Orienteering Championship (WMOC) from 10-16 June 2017 in the town and municipality of Hamina. In this jubilee event, the WMOC competition programme features competitions in three distances: Middle distance, Long distance, and Relay.

25.11.2025 | The national parade on the Independence Day 6 December will affect traffic and parking arrangements in Kouvola. During the parade events, the public is kindly asked to move on foot downtown, in the area of the Finnish baseball stadium, Sumulaaksonkatu, Salpausselänkatu, and Kymen Lukko.

15.2.2024 | The Guard Jaeger Regiment -led local defence exercise Kehä 24, the first one this year, will be held during 3.–8.3.2024 in Eastern Uusimaa. The strength of the training audience will be up to c. 1,000 personnel comprising conscripts, reservists, and service personnel. The exercise will be commanded by Deputy Commander of the Guard Jaeger Regiment, Colonel Vesa Laitonen.

10.2.2025 | The Army will organise the local defence exercises during 18.2.–7.3. this spring. From the Defence Forces, the altogether six local defence exercises will be participated by up to c. 3,000 conscripts, reservists, and service personnel, as well as more than 400 vehicles in total. As is characteristic for local defence exercises, the training audience will also include a significant number of other authorities and business sector stakeholders.

17.3.2025 | The MD500 helicopter is a U.S. -manufactured light utility helicopter. In the Finnish Defence Forces, the MD500s carry the military designation HH and are operated in the Army by the Utti Jaeger Regiment’s Helicopter Battalion. The MD500s are used, among other, for the Finnish Defence Forces’ rotary wing pilot training, personnel transports, and operational missions.

25.11.2021 | The Army Combined Joint Fires Exercise 21 ACJFE21, or MVH21, was visited by altogether 20 cadets from the Swedish Artillery School. As part of the visiting cadet detachment was also Cadet Emma Tiller. The visit included familiarisation with firing positions, the command post, and the forward observation post.

27.11.2019 | The National Parade on the Finnish Independence Day will contribute to changes affecting traffic control, parking and public transportation in Tampere from 5 to 6 December 2019. The majority of the equipment will arrive in Tampere on 5 December, whereas on 6 December the return transfers back to home garrisons may cause traffic congestion in Tampere and its vicinity.

30.11.2019 | Generating trust between nations by means of openness in military cooperation and observation visits. In conjunction with the exercise Kaakko 19, Finland invited for an observation visit observers from 13 of the participating states of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, OSCE, of which 11 accepted the invitation.

20.6.2019 | Officer Candidate Markus Lautala’s conscript service is coming to an end soon. He has served in Hamina for 347 days. Lautala hoped to meet challenging tasks while in the Army and managed to apply for those challenging tasks. Today, he musters out from service, solid trust in the skills and abilities that he leaned during his conscript service. He is aiming for a military career.

19.12.2018 | A total of circa 6,400 conscripts will be mustering out from the Finnish Army on Thursday 20 December 2018. Among those mustering out will also be Conscript Chaplain, Officer Candidate Penja Korkkonen. While carrying out the set service tasks, Officer Candidate Korkkonen has been able to utilise the competence accrued in civilian life in a variety of ways. On top of this, he has gained plenty of experience relevant in light of his future profession.
