17.4.2026 | The Armoured Brigade will lead the Army mechanised exercise Mighty Arrow 26 at the Pohjankangas Firing Range and Training Area in Niinisalo from 24 April to 9 May. Approximately 2800 persons will participate in the exercise, most of them conscripts and about 350 international troops. Almost 500 vehicles will be used in the exercise, including approximately 160 tanks and armoured vehicles.

27.2.2026 | This year, the Army Seminar programme included talks about Russia’s war of aggression given by Ukrainian soldiers and discussions about collective defence of NATO’s Eastern flank. 28.3.2026 | Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki was on a working visit to Ukraine last week. The visit focused on the areas of Kiev, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia. During the visit, Lieutenant General Välimäki met leadership of the Ukrainian Army, and took note of the operating of the land forces as well as command echelons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and new capabilities. Additionally, the visit provided the opportunity to familiarise with defence industry in Ukraine.

17.2.2026 | Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki participated the working meeting of NATO commanders held in Norfolk during 10-12 February 2026. The commanders discussed at their meeting, among other, Arctic Sentry and topical operational issues.
