Lieutenant General Ralph Wooddisse Visits Finland as a Guest of the Commander of the Finnish Army
The Commander of NATO’s Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC), Lieutenant General Ralph Wooddisse, visited Finland at the invitation of the Commander of the Finnish Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki, from 2-3 July 2024.
The visit began with a meeting with the Finnish Defence Forces leadership in the Defence Command in Helsinki. Lieutenant General Wooddisse familiarized himself with the operations of the Finnish Army at the Army Command in Mikkeli and Karelia Brigade in Vekaranjärvi. The visit was hosted by the Commander of the Finnish Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki.
— We initiated cooperation with NATO’s Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) with meetings of the commanders in Helsinki and Mikkeli. Our discussions included the situation in Ukraine, the conditions in NATO’s northern flank, operational art and command. The skill to operate in the Nordic region is built through practical experience, and therefore we agreed on concrete actions for this autumn, says Lieutenant General Välimäki.
