17.4.2026 | The Commander of the Finnish Army and Multi-Corps Land Component Command Northwest (MCLCC-NW), Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki hosted a working meeting held by the Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) of NATO at Mikkeli during 15.-16.4.2026.

28.3.2026 | Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki was on a working visit to Ukraine last week. The visit focused on the areas of Kiev, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia. During the visit, Lieutenant General Välimäki met leadership of the Ukrainian Army, and took note of the operating of the land forces as well as command echelons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and new capabilities. Additionally, the visit provided the opportunity to familiarise with defence industry in Ukraine.

27.4.2026 | Kainuu Brigade will lead several exercises in Kainuu during May. The exercises will be executed primarily in Vuosanka and its immediate surroundings.

27.2.2026 | This year, the Army Seminar programme included talks about Russia’s war of aggression given by Ukrainian soldiers and discussions about collective defence of NATO’s Eastern flank. 21.8.2025 | The Utti Jaeger Regiment will lead an international special operations forces training exercise during 25 August – 12 September 2025. The exercise will develop the combined joint operating capability of special forces of the Alliance’s member nations in Northern Europe’s conditions.

10.4.2025 | The Armoured Brigade will lead the Army mechanized exercise Mighty Arrow 25 at the Pohjankangas Firing Range and Training Area in Niinisalo from 24 April to 13 May. Approximately 2800 persons will take part in the exercise, most of them conscripts and about 700 international troops.
