6.7.2026 | An international naval mines cooperation (NMC) project concerning the common procurement of naval mines has advanced to the framework agreement phase. As a representative of the lead nation, the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command has signed a contract in 25.6. with the Finnish company Forcit, on procuring the Blocker Influence Mine for the participating countries. So far Finland, Germany, Denmark, Lithuania and Norway have joined the project.

21.8.2025 | The Utti Jaeger Regiment will lead an international special operations forces training exercise during 25 August – 12 September 2025. The exercise will develop the combined joint operating capability of special forces of the Alliance’s member nations in Northern Europe’s conditions.

24.4.2025 | The first British Army’s helicopter detachments to participate in the Finnish Army’s exercises this spring have successfully arrived at Säkylä in Finland. The UK’s contingent in Finland includes two AH-64E Apache attack helicopter detachments and one AW159 Wildcat helicopter detachment.

22.2.2024 | The Finnish Defence Forces will participate in the Norwegian-led exercise Nordic Response 24 to be held in northern areas of Finland, Norway, and Sweden during 4–15 March 2024. Nordic Response 24 will mark the Army’s and the Finnish Defence Forces’ most substantial participation in a multinational exercise abroad. The strength of the Army training audience will be c. 2,500 personnel of whom 350 are service personnel, 1,060 conscripts, and 1,120 reservists.

19.4.2023 | The Army will exercise across Finland and abroad during May-June. The objective of the exercises involves further developing Army interoperability and interoperable operating with forces of the alliance and with Sweden.

2.5.2023 | The Utti Jaeger Regiment will command the exercise Southern Griffin 23 in Southern Finland during 10 – 21 May 2023. The total strength of the exercise will be up to c. 1,150 personnel.

18.9.2017 | The Finnish Defence Forces cooperates closely with the Swedish Armed Forces. This bilateral defence cooperation is beeing built on mutual trust and aims at strengthening security and safety of the Baltic Sea region as well as the defence of Finland and Sweden.

16.11.2017 | The Defence Forces’ main exercise Uusimaa will be held in southern Finland from 27 November to 4 December 2017. The objective is to train defending the capital city area and coast in a rapidly escalating situation together with the other authorities.
