On Monday 7 July 2025, the conscripts in the contingent 2/25 will start their service, of whom altogether up to c. 9,700 trainees will start their service at the Army brigade-level units.

22.12.2025 | The next contingent of conscripts will begin their military service on Monday, 5 January, 2026. Approximately 9500 conscripts will start their service in the Army brigade-level units.

10.2.2025 | The Army will organise the local defence exercises during 18.2.–7.3. this spring. From the Defence Forces, the altogether six local defence exercises will be participated by up to c. 3,000 conscripts, reservists, and service personnel, as well as more than 400 vehicles in total. As is characteristic for local defence exercises, the training audience will also include a significant number of other authorities and business sector stakeholders.

7.9.2023 | The CBRN reconnaissance exercise Reccex 23 will end on Friday 8 September as the exercise-participating reservists are mustered out and Nordic troops start their return marches. The two-week exercise focused on preventing and containing chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) threats in an international framework.

22.2.2022 | The Army will exercise local defence tasks across Finland from 26 February to 11 March 2022. Undertaking training will develop the local units’ readiness to carry out local combat and protection missions as part of a wider defense effort, and also ensure fluidity of inter-agency cooperation in case of disruption.

22.2.2022 | From 7-11 March 2022, the Vaasa 22 local defence exercise led by Pori Brigade will assemble, in addition to Defence Forces personnel, conscripts and reservists, also authorities in the region of Ostrobothnia, personnel of the City of Vaasa as well as businesses and actors in the area.
