Finnish Military Orienteering Championships in Vekaranjärvi

The Karelia Brigade is organizing the Finnish Military Orienteering Championships on September 23–25, 2025, in the vicinity of the Vekaranjärvi garrison.

The competitions will be held in accordance with the rules of the Finnish Military Championships and the Finnish Orienteering Federation.

The three-day Finnish Championships will include individual, sprint, and team competitions. The Finnish Military Orienteering Championships differ from civilian competitions in terms of the team competition. In the team competition, teams of four will navigate at night and during the day. The competition is conducted in field uniform, with a weapon and backpack. The daytime competition also includes a speed march, during which participants shoot and throw hand grenades.

The public is welcome to watch the individual competition on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Anttila Racetrack, Hunttulantie 39, 46230 Valkeala.
