Organised in Turku on 26 February 2020, the Finnish Army Seminar will convene to discuss the development of land defence in two panel sessions led by top specialists. You may follow the seminar online via livestream and take part in the discussion on Twitter, #finarmyseminar.

The seminar will have Military Professor, Lieutenant Colonel Janne Mäkitalo from the Finnish National Defence University give a presentation on future warfare developments followed by two panel sessions that each comprise four presentations with ensuing panel discussions with top specialists from Finland and overseas.
The first panel session will tackle the support provided by other operational domains to army combat. The four presentations given on this topic will be by Chief of the Strategic Planning Section Navy Command, Commander Mika Raunu, Naval Sales Director Finland Jonas Widerström from Saab Defence and Security, Deputy chief of Staff Air Force Command, Colonel Juha-Pekka Keränen, as well as Major Tuomo Rusila from the Defence Command.
The second panel session will focus on developing the key capabilities of the army. The four presentations will be by Inspector of the Infantry, Colonel Rainer Peltoniemi from the Army Command, Lieutenant Colonel Iain Harrop from the British Army, Lieutenant Colonel Gaute Indseth from the Norwegian Army, and Colonel James T. Iulo from the United States Marine Corps. The seminar will be moderated by Military Professor, Colonel Mika Hyytiäinen from the National Defence University, and Doctor of Military Sciences, Major Antti Paronen from the Army Academy.
