Finland joins NSPA’s OLSP HNAS Project Group and Medical Support Partnership
Finnish Defence Forces has joined NATO Support and Procurement Agency’s Operational Logistics Support Partnership Host Nation Augmentation Services Project Group and Medical Support Partnership on January 1st 2025.
NSPA’s Operational Logistics Support Partnership (OLSP) is a multinational and multifunctional support partnership that offers fast track access to a wide range of contracted support to military operations, missions and exercises worldwide.
Operations support and services provided by the NSPA include but are not limited to transportation services, facility support services, food and catering services, medical services and fuel supply and services.
From January 1st 2025 Finnish Defence Forces has been a member the Operational Logistics Support Partnership Host Nation Augmentation Services Project Group (HNAS PG) whose mission is to develop the OLSP’s support and services to meet NATO’s evolving demands for the Host Nation Support provided by its member nations to allied troops.
Finland has been a member of the Operational Logistics Support Partnership since 2014. NSPA support and services have been used by the Finnish Defence Forces to support various operations and deployments, including the Finnish Air Force deployment to support NATO Air Policing and Shielding Missions in Romania in June-July 2024, and Finnish troop contributions to NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR) and Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) in Iraq.
Medical Support Partnership
On January 1st 2025 the Finnish Defence Forces also joined the NSPA’s Medical Support Partnership. Through the Partnership, the NSPA supports Allied Armed Forces with multinational medical procurement options for alliance operations and exercises. The partnership also offers Finnish Defence forces opportunities to participate in common planning of requirements for alliance medical services.
Together with Finland, Sweden was welcomed as the newest full members of the Partnerhip.Its founding members are Canada, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Norway.
Logistics cooperation since year 2000
The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) is NATO’s lead organisation for multinational acquisition, support and sustainment in all domains, to all 32 Allies and partners.
Finland’s co-operation with NSPA and its predecessors dates back to the year 2000 when it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the NATO Maintenance and Supply Organisation (NAMSO).
