Deputy Commander of Joint Force Command Norfolk visited Finland

Deputy Commander of JFC Norfolk, Vice Admiral James Morley, visited Finland from 10-13 February 2025. The visit was hosted by the Commander of the Finnish Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki.
During his visit, Vice Admiral Morley familiarized himself with the winter conditions of North Karelia, hosted by the commanders of the Kainuu Brigade and the North Karelia Border Guard. He also visited the Defense Command and met with the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Janne Jaakkola, and the Chief of Defence Command, Lieutenant General Vesa Virtanen. At the Air Force Command, Vice Admiral Morley met with the Commander of the Air Force, Major General Timo Herranen.
The topics discussed included the development of a Multi Corps Land Component Command (MCLCC) in Finland, the situation on NATO’s Northern Flank in various domains, the integration of Finnish Army staff into JFC Norfolk, and NATO’s collective deterrence and defense.
This visit was part of the ongoing interaction between JFC Norfolk and the Finnish Defence Forces.
