Jaeger Brigade’s combat exercise Puukko 224 

The Jaeger Brigade’s combat exercise Puukko 224, Lapland Steel, will be held during 1.–5.12.2024 in the area of Sodankylä.

The objective of the exercise is to develop the training audience forces’ capability and competence in demanding combat missions in northern area of operation. The exercise also validates the proficiency level of conscripts mustering out into the reserve in December and that of reservists participating in refresher training exercises.

The exercise will be participated by troops from the Jaeger Brigade, Lapland Border Guard District, Lapland Air Wing, Utti Jaeger Regiment, and the Air Force Academy, as well as Allies’ forces from the UK. The total strength of the exercise will be up to c. 1,300 personnel. The exercise will be commanded by Commander of the Jaeger Brigade, Colonel Kimmo Kinnunen.
