
Commander of the Finnish Army on an official visit to the United States in April 2025
The Commander of the Finnish Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki, visited the United States at the end of April. The visit was hosted by the Commander of the United States Army, General Randy George. The official visit included military honours and the laying of a wreath at the Arlington Military Cemetery.

Army training exercises this spring to focus on strengthening joint operating
The training exercise entity of the Army will start at the end of April to continue until early June in all of Finland. The exercises will strengthen the alliance’s ability for joint operating, build-up of combat power, and its concentration across Finland.

British Army’s helicopter detachments deployed to Finland successfully
The first British Army’s helicopter detachments to participate in the Finnish Army’s exercises this spring have successfully arrived at Säkylä in Finland. The UK’s contingent in Finland includes two AH-64E Apache attack helicopter detachments and one AW159 Wildcat helicopter detachment.

Mighty Arrow 25 to strengthen immediate execution capability of Alliance’s mechanized forces
The Armoured Brigade will lead the Army mechanized exercise Mighty Arrow 25 at the Pohjankangas Firing Range and Training Area in Niinisalo from 24 April to 13 May. Approximately 2800 persons will take part in the exercise, most of them conscripts and about 700 international troops.
