Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces to attend the meeting of the NATO Military Committee in Brussels

NATO's Military Committee will meet in Brussels on 15–16 January. Finland is represented in the Military Committee by the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Janne Jaakkola.

The topics of the meeting include: updates on NATO's operational plans and progress of the planning process, cooperation with partners, NATO's ongoing operations and support to Ukraine. The meeting will be chaired by the Chairman of the Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer.

The NATO Military Committee, which consists of the defence chiefs of the member states, meets three times a year to discuss NATO's tasks, activities and operations, and to provide military advice to NATO's political leadership, the North Atlantic Council, on how to respond to security challenges.
