Bilateral training exercise to develop special operations forces’ operating procedures
The Utti Jaeger Regiment will organise a bilateral training exercise with the United States’ Special Operations Forces on 14-20 June 2021. The exercise will include helicopter activity.
The bilateral training exercise will be held in an area whose edge points are bounded by Hollola, Heinola, Puumala, Ruokolahti, Kotka and Porvoo. The exercise troops will bivouac in the field in small team compositions. Helicopters as well as training ammunition utilised by the soldiers may cause noise in the training area at all times of day or night.
The exercise will be participated by salaried service personnel from the Finnish Defence Forces. The total strength of the exercise will be circa 40 personnel of whom the international training audience will amount to less than 20 personnel.
The foreign participants have been in quarantine for 14 days in their country of departure and possess a negative Covid-19 test result upon arrival in Finland. During travel they have followed the safety precautions determined by the authorities.
During the exercise, the health of the exercise troops will be safeguarded by maintaining distancing, using masks indoors and following general hygiene instructions.
The objective of the exercise involves developing the standard operating procedures, capability and international interoperability of the Finnish Defence Forces’ special operations forces in missions of national defence and international military crisis management.
The cooperation exercise is part of the Finnish Defence Forces’ international exercise plan for 2021.
