Guard Jaeger Regiment will lead a training exercise in Helsinki on 9.-10.8.2022
During the night of 9 to 10 August, the Guard Jaeger Regiment and National Defence University will exercise together with the Helsinki Police Department and City of Helsinki in areas of Helsinki city centre and Meilahti. At 21:00-03:00, traffic may occasionally and locally be affected by exercise activity. Traffic guidance will be provided on exercise sites.
The total strength of the training audience will be c. 250 personnel comprising conscripts, cadets, as well as service personnel from the Guard Jaeger Regiment, Helsinki Police Department, and City of Helsinki. The Guard Jaeger Regiment’s troops and cadets will be wearing a fighting load including an assault rifle. The instructors will be wearing yellow high visibility vests on their combat uniform. The training audience will be on the move by vehicles of the Finnish Defence Forces and Police.
The training exercise will not include any fires or produce any significant noise. The objective is to minimise any inconvenience to traffic, and City of Helsinki has arranged for guidance on the exercise sites.
The training exercise will be commanded by Guard Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Ari Helenius.
