The Army Command held an international Joint Air Ground seminar to discuss operations integration in Helsinki 12-13 April.

The two-day seminar involved multinational presentations and discussions which focused on the exchange of experience of successful integration co-ordination in terms of personnel, doctrine, and equipment. The participants talked about lessons learned as well as had small brain storming sessions for future mission success.

The seminar was participated by service personnel from the Finnish Defence Forces, and by representatives of the United States Army, and of the Norwegian Army, as well as of NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force command element of NATO Response Force. The seminar was hosted by Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki.

- These two days included good discussions and exchange of ideas concerning joint operating. Our co-operation continues to develop and our in-depth understanding further advance by means of these types of events, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Välimäki says.

 - We came together and built a team with a common direction and we quickly saw we have quite a bit of capability amongst us as a whole. And this was all possible because of our newest NATO member, Finland, seeing a need and looking for a way to meet that need, Commanding General of 10th Mountain division, Major General Gregory Anderson says.
