22.6.2026 | Försvarsmakten har uppdaterat Allmänt tjänstereglemente (ALLMTJ). Det uppdaterade reglementet tas i bruk den 1 juli 2026. Samtidigt upphävs Allmänt tjänstereglemente 2017. Uppdateringen beaktar till exempel Finlands Natomedlemskap och främjar förverkligandet av jämställdhet och likabehandling inom Försvarsmakten.

27.2.2026 | På arméseminariet skildrades Rysslands anfallskrig av ukrainska soldater och diskuterades försvaret av det östliga randområdet tillsammans med allierade. Deltagarna på seminariet som ordnades för sjunde gången kom förutom från Ukraina från de Nato-allierade ländernas arméledningar, Natos ledningsorgan samt från Försvarsmaktens olika försvarsgrenar.

28.3.2026 | Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki was on a working visit to Ukraine last week. The visit focused on the areas of Kiev, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia. During the visit, Lieutenant General Välimäki met leadership of the Ukrainian Army, and took note of the operating of the land forces as well as command echelons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and new capabilities. Additionally, the visit provided the opportunity to familiarise with defence industry in Ukraine.

29.6.2026 | The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki attended the RUSI Land Warfare Conference 2026 (LWC) held in London, and visited the Headquarters of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) in Gloucester. Additionally, the Commander also attended the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative (EFDI) -symposium held in Stockholm, as well as the Change of Command Ceremony of the Chief of the Swedish Army.

18.6.2026 | Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark acted as joint hosts for the northern part of NATO’s Ramstein Flag 26 exercise, which concludes today.

30.6.2026 | The Finnish Ministry of Defence, the Estonian Defence Forces, and the European AI lab for Defence NestAI have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) on 30 June 2026 to advance the development of artificial intelligence capabilities.
