Utti Jaeger Regiment’s exercise activity in Finland and Estonia

The Utti Jaeger Regiment will exercise over the weeks ahead in Southern and Northern Finland. International training exercise activity for the autumn of 2024 will continue in Estonia.

The Utti Jaeger Regiment’s exercise activity will be conducted in Upinniemi and in the southern maritime waters from 24 to 26 September 2024, and in Northern Finland in the area between Lohiniva, Sodankylä, Pelkosenniemi, Räisälä and Rovaniemi from 30 September to 11 October.

Soldiers wearing combat load will conduct exercise drilling in the terrain, in the archipelago, and in the waters. The exercise drills will utilise the Finnish Defence Forces’ vehicle and vessel equipment as well as blank drilling ammunition and light explosives. 

Some of the exercise drill situations will include helicopter flight activity during daylight and the hours of darkness. Rotary-wing aircraft activity and use of munitions may cause noise nuisance.

Exercise activity also in Estonia

The Utti Jaeger Regiment will conduct exercise drilling together with the Estonian Defence Forces from 23 September to 2 October 2024. 

The objective of the exercise is to develop interoperability and joint operating among the training audience detachments of Finland and Estonia. The exercise will be participated from Finland by less than 100 personnel and involve activity of the Finnish Defence Forces’ NH90 transport helicopters and light-class vessels.

The exercise is part of the Finnish Defence Forces’ approved international training exercise co-operation for 2024.
