17.4.2026 | The Commander of the Finnish Army and Multi-Corps Land Component Command Northwest (MCLCC-NW), Lieutenant General Pasi Välimäki hosted a working meeting held by the Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) of NATO at Mikkeli during 15.-16.4.2026.

12.2.2026 | The Army will exercise local defence during 20.2.–6.3.2026. The series of exercises will be participated by altogether up to c. 3,500 soldiers, a number of other authorities, as well as business sector organisations from across Finland.

29.1.2026 | The readiness unit’s exercise RYSKE will be organised in Ivalo and the area of Tsarmitunturi fell on 4-11 February 2026.

15 Aug. - 15 Dec. 2025, call-ups in accordance with the Conscription Act will be organized by the Defence Forces regional offices. This year, male citizens born in 2007 will be summoned to call-ups.

27.6.2024 | The training exercise RYSKE of the Jaeger Brigade’s readiness unit will be held in the area of Kaamanen–Näätämö on 22.−26.7.2024.

22.2.2024 | The Finnish Defence Forces will participate in the Norwegian-led exercise Nordic Response 24 to be held in northern areas of Finland, Norway, and Sweden during 4–15 March 2024. Nordic Response 24 will mark the Army’s and the Finnish Defence Forces’ most substantial participation in a multinational exercise abroad. The strength of the Army training audience will be c. 2,500 personnel of whom 350 are service personnel, 1,060 conscripts, and 1,120 reservists.

17.11.2024 | The live-fire phase of the exercise Dynamic Front 25 / Lightning Strike 24 started today. The main event of the international artillery exercise gives the Army a chance to showcase its’ strong capability in sharing situational awareness and conducting joint fires with Allied forces.
