7.9.2016 | Safe drinking water is one of the basic prerequisites of human health and well-being. To be able to ensure the supply of clean water the Finnish-Irish Battalion (FINIRISHBATT) together with the municipality of Aytarun provided a water purification plant to the residents of Aytarun in South Lebanon.

29.4.2016 | United Nations (UN) Charter’s Chapter six deals with the peaceful settlement of disputes. UNIFIL mission is an example of a traditional peacekeeping operation that falls under Chapter six. UNSC Resolution 1701 (2006) defines the tasks and mandate of the operation. Restrictions on the use of force are based on the nature of the tasks.

18.7.2016 | The Finnish-Irish Battalion (FINIRISHBATT) built a retaining wall surrounding the Social Development Center of Bint Jubayl in cooperation with the governments of Finland and Ireland. 14.7.2016 there was an inauguration to honor this event.

6.7.2016 | Fire and rescue teams from the Finnish-Irish Battalion (FINIRISHBATT) and Austrian unit organized a joint exercise in UNIFIL’s headquarters in Naqoura 30.6.2016.

18.7.2016 | On Monday 18.7.2016 the Deputy Commander of the UNIFIL Sector West, Colonel Marko Alamäki handed over his duties to Colonel Jyrki Kaisanlahti.
