20.11.2023 | The Finnish Defence Forces supports the Border Guard in securing the border situation by establishing executive assistance detachments to assist personnel in the construction of public order barriers. In addition, the Finnish Defence Forces provide material support. The task of the executive assistance departments began on Sunday 19 November 2023. The detachments consist of personnel and conscripts from the Army's brigade-level units.

14.10.2016 | In South Lebanon a water reservoir was built to help the local farmers to supply water for their fields. The inauguration of the reservoir was held on the 8th of October 2016.

21.6.2017 | The Army Academy’s Military Engineer School (MILENGS) organised a course module on combat engineer company (CBT ENG COY) operating in counter mobility operations on 12-22 June 2017 bringing students to Lappeenranta from Lithuania, Sweden, Norway, and Estonia. The objective of the course involved providing the attendees the prerequisites for functioning in the tasks of a commanding officer and 2IC of a CBT ENG unit subordinated to a battalion battlegroup (BN BG).

21.4.2017 | Allowing for substituting expensive or high-risk forms of operating by means of simulation modelling, simulator-assisted training has become mainstream both in the Finnish Defence Forces and in society overall. This development has brought about novel possibilities for implementing versatile methods for sustaining motivation in learning and instruction. Over the coming years, the Finnish Defence Forces will increasingly employ simulators in training contexts.
