27.4.2026 | Kainuu Brigade will lead several exercises in Kainuu during May. The exercises will be executed primarily in Vuosanka and its immediate surroundings.

12.11.2025 | The Jaeger Brigade -led LIVEX Lapland Steel 25 will be held at Rovajärvi training exercise and range area during 26.11.–5.12.2025.

30.10.2025 | In early winter, Army training exercises will have thousands of conscripts, who are about to muster into the reserve in December, train together with reservists and allies across Finland. The exercises aim to validate the joint wartime capability of persons liable for military service trained for their tasks.

19.11.2024 | The Jaeger Brigade’s combat exercise Puukko 224, Lapland Steel, will be held during 1.–5.12.2024 in the area of Sodankylä.

10.2.2025 | The Jaeger Brigade -led Lapland Stone 25 -local defence exercise will be held in the regions of Haaparanta, Tornio, Keminmaa, and Kemi during 18.–23.2.2025.

10.2.2025 | The Army will organise the local defence exercises during 18.2.–7.3. this spring. From the Defence Forces, the altogether six local defence exercises will be participated by up to c. 3,000 conscripts, reservists, and service personnel, as well as more than 400 vehicles in total. As is characteristic for local defence exercises, the training audience will also include a significant number of other authorities and business sector stakeholders.

25.5.2024 | The brigade-level, multinational Task Force Arctic Storm (TF Arctic Storm) has been preparing for its upcoming offensive mission around Sodankylä during the Combat Enhancement Training/Force Integration Training (CET/FIT) phase.

8.11.2024 | The exercise will affect the traffic especially in the surroundings of the Rovajärvi training area and the main roads as the troops and equipment are being transported to the exercise sites. Lightning Strike 24 is a part of the exercise series Dynamic Front 25, which is the largest NATO artillery exercise series ever conducted in Europe.

31.5.2024 | The international combat exercise held in Rovajärvi brought together nearly 6,500 soldiers from Finland, the United States, and Norway, as well as staff personnel from Sweden. The main objective of the exercise was to enhance the interoperability of the participating nations' ground forces in the challenging terrain conditions of Northern Finland.

13.11.2023 | The National Parade on the Independence Day of Finland will be held in Oulu on 6 December. The theme of the parade is Defenders of Independent Finland. The review of troops will be held at Raati stadium, and the pass in review on the bridges of Merikoski. At Oulu market square, the Finnish Defence Forces’ and other agencies’ equipment and activity will be on display for familiarisation. The events will be free of charge.
